Exchange of Notes
  1. On 17th October, 2024, in Dar es Salaam, the Exchange of Notes(E/N) for the grant aid project “The Project for the Construction of Dodoma City Inner Ring Road” was signed by H.E. Mr. MISAWA Yasushi, Ambassador of Japan to the United Republic of Tanzania and Dr. Natu El-Maamry Mwamba, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance of the United Republic of Tanzania.

  1. The government of Japan will provide a grant up to four billion seventy million Japanese Yen (\4,070,000,000), approximately twenty-nine million two hundred and eighty thousand US dollars ($29,280,000) for this project.

  1. In the capital city of Dodoma, the volume of heavy vehicles on the roads has been steadily increasing each year, leading to worsening traffic congestion and a decline in the quality of life due to rising levels of exhaust emissions, noise, and vibrations. In response, this project aims to enhance traffic flow and improve living conditions in Dodoma by constructing a new inner ring road (approx. 3.1 km) and widening existing roads (approx. 3.4 km). These improvements will facilitate smoother distribution and contribute to the country's economic development.

  1. For many years, Japan has been providing support for the road sector throughout Tanzania, with a focus on Dar es Salaam, and this project will also contribute to economic and social development by promoting inter-regional connections and facilitating logistics through improved transportation.
