Launching Ceremony for the Project of “Enhancing Inclusive Recovery and Resilience Building for Flood-Affected Communities in Mtwara” (UNDP)

1. On 16th July, in the presence of Hon. Col. Patrick Sawala, Regional Commissioner of Mtwara, a launching ceremony was held in Mtwara to inaugurate the project of “Enhancing Inclusive Recovery and Resilience Building for Flood-Affected Communities in Mtwara” (UNDP) funded by Japan’s supplementary budget.
2. Through Japan’s contribution of USD 328,467 (approx. JPY 45 million) to UNDP, this project will provide agricultural assistance to smallholder farmers in flood-affected rural areas of Mtwara to help them adapt to climate change.
3. Through this project, it is expected to contribute to comprehensive recovery from flood damage and strengthen disaster resilience in Mtwara.
