  1. On 12th February, a launching ceremony was held at Ambassador’s residence to inaugurate the “Protection and assistance to Congolese influx in Kigoma region” project (UNHCR) funded by Japan’s supplementary budget.
  2. Through Japan’s contribution of USD 360,000 （approx. JPY 49 million） to UNHCR, this project will provide protection and assistance to asylum seekers fleeing from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
  3. This project is expected to protect the dignity of the new arrivals and contribute to the regional peace and stability.
