Remarks by Amb. Mikami  
  1. On June 11, Ambassador Mikami attended the launch ceremony of the project titled Promoting Community Led Nature-Based Solutions to Climate Change Adaptation in the Usangu Catchment, which is supported through the Japan Social Development Fund (JSDF) managed by the World Bank.
  2. This project, funded by a JSDF grant of approximately USD 2.8 million (approx. JPY 420 million), will support communities in Mbarali District, Mbeya Region, located within the Usangu Catchment by implementing climate-resilient water management activities, enhancing economic resilience through livelihood support, and providing social services addressing Gender Based Violence.
  3. The implementation of this project is expected to contribute to strengthening comprehensive resilience in Mbarali District which is highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
