Launching Ceremony for Japan Social Development Fund (JSDF) Project “Promoting Community Led Nature-Based Solutions to Climate Change Adaptation in the Usangu Catchment” (World Bank)

- On June 11, Ambassador Mikami attended the launch ceremony of the project titled “Promoting Community Led Nature-Based Solutions to Climate Change Adaptation in the Usangu Catchment”, which is supported through the Japan Social Development Fund (JSDF) managed by the World Bank.
- This project, funded by a JSDF grant of approximately USD 2.8 million (approx. JPY 420 million), will support communities in Mbarali District, Mbeya Region, located within the Usangu Catchment by implementing climate-resilient water management activities, enhancing economic resilience through livelihood support, and providing social services addressing Gender Based Violence.
- The implementation of this project is expected to contribute to strengthening comprehensive resilience in Mbarali District which is highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
