Handover Ceremony for the Project for “Promoting public health and social resilience against COVID-19 by strengthening the domestic supply chain of PPE” (UNIDO)

- On 9th March, in the presence of Hon. Dr. Godwin Mollel, Deputy Minister for Health and Ambassador Misawa, the Handover Ceremony of Japan’s supplementary budget project in partnership with UNIDO, “Promoting public health and social resilience against COVID-19 by strengthening the domestic supply chain of personal protective equipment” was held at Medical Stores Department (MSD) in Dar es Salaam.
- This project aims to improve domestic supply chain of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as masks and gowns, disinfectants, and hygiene supplies in terms of 1) production capacity, 2) quality, and 3) business resilience and continuity in emergency situations.
- Through Japan’s contribution of JPY 74 million (USD 675,000) to UNIDO, selected domestic private and public entities in the target supply chain were capacitated and related equipment including N95 masks producing machine were provided.
