Toward further cooperation between Japan and Tanzania
Visit of Mr. Norio Mitsuya, Parliamentary Senior Vice Minister
for Foreign Affairs
From 31th January to 1st February 2014, Mr.Mitsuya, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs visited Tanzania.
During his visit, he had meeting with several Tanzanian Politicians and also visited Japanese grant aid project sites, Japanese companies and transport infrastructures.
During his visit, the vice minister had a meeting with
H.E. Dr. Bilal, Vice President of Tanzania, H.E. Mr. Pinda, Prime Minister of Tanzania, H.E. Mr. Hamad, First Vice-President of Zanzibar, Hon. Dr. Tizeba. Deputy-Minister of Transport.
During those meetings, Vice Minister Mr. Mitsuya appreciated the Government of Tanzania for cooperation the TICADⅤ(Fifth Tokyo International Cooperation on Africa Development), which took place last June in Yokohama, Japan. He also praised the economic development of Tanzania
and proposed strengthening bilateral relationship in various fields.
Tanzania side expressed their appreciation to the Government of Japan for a number of economic-cooperation assistance. They also expressed their expectation for further investment and economic-cooperation.
Tanzania maintains solid economic growh under the stable political circumstance.
During his vist to Tanzania, Vice Minister Mr.Mitsuya visited some Japanese companies and discussed about business environment in Tanzania. He also visited on-going grant aid project
(New Bagamoyo Road) and transport infrastructures.Hon. Dr.Tizeba and Mr. Mitsuya exchanged their views on the current situation of transportation and transport infrastructures in Tanzania during their rail trip from Dar es Salaam
central station to Ubungo station.
